February 11th, 2013

Around 6:15 Monday morning, Jacksonville was alerted to a report of a car accident with injuries in the area of Jarrettsville Pike and Manor Road. Engine 473 responded and arrived minutes later to find a pickup truck that had struck two vehicles in the oncoming lane. All three cars had serious damage. One patient with minor injuries from the accident was handled by M17. A tractor trailer hauling gasoline tried to squeeze by the scene prior to arrival of the fire department and ran off the road, leaving it stuck in the mud and leaning to one side. E473 remained on the scene over two hours awaiting a wrecker to safely move the tanker truck.
